It is 13 in (33 cm) long with a 4.5 x 2.5 in solid rubber head and a 2.5 in striking face. That weight lets a paver or a floor plank seat in a couple of taps, and it also means the tool feels solid in the hand. If you need a light mallet for jewelry or leather crafts, this one is heavier than you want. The head is solid black rubber, so this soft face rubber hammer does not dent wood or chip tile and stone. It works as a non marring hammer and soft face hammer on wood and metal parts. Black rubber can leave a light scuff on white, pale or high-gloss surfaces; in that case tap through a scrap block or a cloth. A new rubber head has a mild rubber smell that fades after a day in open air; wipe the head once before first use. Inside the handle is a steel core, wrapped in a textured non-slip rubber grip that holds in wet or gloved hands and damps the vibration that travels to your wrist. A hanging hole at the end keeps it on a pegboard. Everyday jobs: a heavy duty rubber mallet for landscaping, a rubber mallet for pavers and a paver mallet for bricks and edging, rubber mallet for flooring and tile, furniture and cabinet assembly, rubber mallet for dorm bed risers, a rubber mallet camping tool, a camping mallet and tent mallet for tent stakes, a woodworking mallet for joints and dowels. Also known as a soft rubber mallet, soft mallet hammer, soft mallet, soft hammer, soft blow hammer, rubber head hammer, rubber hammer mallet, mazo de goma or martillo de goma. Use it for soft blows only. Do not split wood, strike steel wedges, steel chisels or nails, or use it as a pry bar: side loads and metal-on-rubber impacts can crack the head or loosen it on the handle.

Features

24 OZ = 1.5 LB = 680 G: Check the weight before you buy.
