Is Your Fridge Not Cooling? 3 Things to Check Before Calling a Technician
We know how frustrating it can be to come home after a long day only to find your food has gone bad. Before replacing your fridge or paying for a repair, there are a few things you can check yourself. At AQS Appliances, we want to help you save time and money, so here’s a simple guide.
1. Make sure the fridge is plugged in and powered on
It might sound basic, but sometimes it’s just a loose plug or a switched-off outlet. Check that the cable is properly connected and that your outlet works. If you use a voltage protector, make sure it hasn’t tripped.
👉 Make sure your parts and protectors are working properly.
2. Adjust the thermostat
Sometimes the thermostat gets moved by mistake. Make sure it's set between 3 and 5 for average cooling. A wrong setting can stop your fridge from working properly.

3. Clean the condenser coils
Dirty or dusty coils can stop your fridge from cooling. These are usually behind or under the fridge. Clean them with a soft brush or a handheld vacuum.
